I'm sitting here in my 85℉ office, drinking a watered down Chai Latte, sweating... But, OH MY GOODNESS, I cannot believe this day has finally come! Today is THE DAY! I cannot express how thrilled, happy, relieved, and EXCITED I am to present the "new me" to you guys!
Yes, our AC isn't working at the moment, but nothing could detain me from launching my new brand today! This has been a long awaited day and I am so pleased for it to finally happen.
Why the name change & rebranding you ask? Well, it has been on my heart for some time now to create a brand that reflects more truly who I am and what I'm about. At the beginning of the year, I took a leap of faith and jumped into photography full-time. This has been a long anticipated decision, and I was SO thrilled for the amazing opportunity. In the following months, I began to dream about how I could move my photography business in the direction I've been longing for, but never really had the capacity to do before. This is when I contacted Becky Murphy with Chipper Things about starting this process with me. Becky is a wonderful freelance illustrator, graphic designer and writer based in Austin, Texas. Becky was the creative mind that took what was in my heart, and made it come to life! I am so thankful for her! You'll be hearing more about Becky later this week, so stay tuned.
There are many reasons why I made the hard decision to change my business name, but the easiest way to explain them all would be, that it's just more SIMPLE. My heart in moving forward in my business is to be one that intentionally simplifies my life in such a way that I can really enjoy and live for the things that are most important to me. This is a desire deep in my heart that began stirring last year. In order for this to have any true effect on my day to day life, it must transcend into the smallest of things. Having my name as the title of the business aligns with that vision. I am SO glad and excited for the new things to come! Yay!
